Custom Sensor Support
FreeWave natively supports the current sensors: View supported sensors
Sensors are supported on the Fusion Mini by way of sensor profiles. A sensor profile is a segment of code stored within the firmware of the Fusion Mini.
FreeWave is able to support almost any RS485 MODBUS or Bluetooth sensors. The process of adding a device to the supported sensor list is as follows:
- FreeWave requires the specific sensor specification document to be sent to us
- FreeWave will first validate whether the sensor has the correct communication protocols and whether the Fusion Mini can power the sensor
- Should the sensor prove to be viable, a sensor certification fee for engineering is required to be paid to FreeWave and you must provide a sensor for FreeWave to use for engineering purposes
- The sensor certification and firmware development fee is USD$600
- The engineering team will develop a sensor profile for inclusion into a new firmware release
- Once successfully tested, new firmware will be available with the new sensor profile included
- Any new Fusion Minis purchased from that time will include the new firmware
- Existing Fusion Minis will need their firmware upgraded to be able to use the new sensor
